About this role
Ambient Recruiting is partnered with a family-owned manufacturing company in Belding, MI, to recruit a Mechanical Engineer. The Mechanical Engineer will design custom machinery from concept through completion, working alongside an experienced engineering team to develop unique equipment and solutions. Projects range from large-scale designs spanning several months to smaller equipment builds and drawing updates.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop custom industrial machinery and equipment from concept through completion.
- Create and modify mechanical drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, controls engineers, and other team members throughout the design and build process.
- Develop solutions to meet project specifications and customer requirements.
- Make design revisions and assist with troubleshooting as needed.
- Manage projects of varying sizes while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Take initiative, learn company processes, and contribute to continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks is required.
- Mechanical engineering or design experience preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Adaptable, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a small team.
- Interest in custom machinery design and hands-on manufacturing.
- Open to candidates at various experience levels. Direct experience with the company's specific equipment is not required, as training is available.
