Ambient Recruiting is partnering with a premier Northern Michigan hospitality property in Petoskey to hire dependable Housekeeping Room Attendants.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused team environment.
As a Housekeeping Room Attendant, you'll play an important role in creating an exceptional guest experience by maintaining clean, orderly, and welcoming guest rooms and common areas. Attention to detail, efficiency, professionalism, and a strong work ethic are essential to success in this role.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Housekeeping Room Attendant, you'll:
- Clean and prepare guest rooms and common areas according to established standards
- Review room assignments and prioritize vacant rooms and upcoming checkouts
- Change and replenish linens, towels, and guest amenities
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms, kitchenettes, furniture, and room surfaces
- Sweep, vacuum, polish, and maintain floors throughout assigned areas
- Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment
- Clean windows, walls, ceilings, doors, and other room surfaces
- Empty waste containers and replace liners
- Clean outdoor patio areas and furniture
- Complete room cleaning checklists and inspect work for quality and cleanliness standards
- Monitor inventory levels and restock housekeeping carts and storage areas
- Maintain clean and organized utility and storage rooms
- Respond to guest requests for supplies and information in a professional manner
- Report maintenance concerns, issues, or unusual situations to supervisors
- Assist fellow housekeeping team members when needed
- Complete assigned reports and update room status accurately
What We're Looking For
Successful candidates will have:
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Dependable work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and guest service skills
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods throughout the shift
- Willingness to assist in various areas as needed
Previous housekeeping, hotel, cleaning, or hospitality experience is helpful but not required for the right candidate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping or hotel experience
- Experience cleaning guest rooms or other hospitality spaces
- Familiarity with professional cleaning products and equipment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently while following established procedures
Schedule Requirements
This is a year-round position with Part-Time and Full-Time opportunities available.
The ideal candidate must have flexibility to work a hospitality schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
Scheduling may vary based on business needs and guest volume.
