Ambient Recruiting is partnering with a premier Northern Michigan hospitality property to hire a dependable and skilled Painter for a full-time, year-round position.
In this role, you'll be responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing a variety of surfaces throughout the property. You'll manage work orders, prioritize projects, coordinate with other departments, and ensure painting projects are completed efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Painter, you'll:
- Plan painting projects when needed, including timelines, processes, and required materials
- Communicate project plans and timelines clearly with supervisors and other departments
- Take direction from your supervisor and complete tasks according to priority
- Manage work orders and organize projects efficiently
- Coordinate with other departments to minimize disruption to daily operations
- Prepare surfaces by washing, cleaning, smoothing, and stripping old paint
- Patch nail holes, cracks, joints, and other imperfections using caulk, putty, plaster, or similar materials
- Match and mix paint to achieve specific colors and finishes
- Select and use premixed paint when appropriate
- Remove pictures, switch plates, fixtures, and other items before painting
- Protect floors, furniture, trim, and surrounding areas using drop cloths, tape, and paper
- Apply paint using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment depending on the project
- Recreate decorative textures and finishes such as wood grain, marble, brick, or tile when required
- Use cloths, sponges, brushes, and other tools to create specific finishes and effects
- Set up and safely use ladders and scaffolding to reach elevated areas
- Apply mildew remover and properly prepare affected surfaces when necessary
- Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout each project
- Clean and properly store painting tools and equipment after completing projects
- Follow workplace safety procedures and proper equipment practices
- Complete additional maintenance and painting duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous professional painting experience
- Experience with residential or commercial painting
- Experience with paint matching and color mixing
- Experience using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
- Experience with decorative painting or specialty finishes
- Experience with drywall patching, caulking, plaster, or surface repair
- General property maintenance experience
- Experience managing work orders and project priorities

What to Expect
This is a hands-on position where you'll work on a variety of painting and finishing projects.
You'll spend your days preparing surfaces, repairing imperfections, applying paint and finishes, and completing work orders based on operational priorities. Projects may involve working at different heights and using ladders or scaffolding.
Attention to detail is especially important in this position. You'll be expected to protect surrounding areas, properly prepare surfaces, match colors and finishes, and leave completed work looking clean and professional.
You'll also work closely with other departments to schedule and complete projects while minimizing disruption to daily operations.
