Ambient Recruiting is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to join our client’s maintenance department. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the advanced troubleshooting, complex repair, and specialized maintenance of our diverse range of glass fabrication equipment.
This position requires a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic repair experience, as well as the ability to read technical documentation and implement effective solutions.
Preventative Maintenance & Scheduling
- Lead the development and execution of preventative maintenance (PM) schedules for all key equipment (e.g., glass tempering ovens, cutting tables, CNC machinery, edge polishing equipment, IGU lines).
- Maintain digital and physical records of PM activities and equipment performance.
- Supervise and coordinate new equipment installations and upgrades.
- Partner with engineering and production teams to ensure safe and efficient integration into existing operations.
- Support layout changes and plant improvement projects.
- Plan and oversee the facility’s year-end shutdown for deep maintenance.
- Coordinate timing with production leads to ensure minimal disruption to orders.
- Work with external vendors and service providers for large-scale overhaul and repair tasks during shutdown.
- Source, schedule, and manage third-party maintenance vendors, OEM reps, and service contractors.
- Review and approve service contracts, scopes of work, and invoice accuracy.
- Supervise and schedule a 1st and 2nd shift maintenance crew (mechanical, electrical, and general technicians).
- Train and develop maintenance personnel to improve skill levels and ensure safety.
- Maintain high levels of accountability, response time, and safety compliance across shifts.
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (glass, fabrication, CNC, or similar industry preferred).
- 2+ years of leadership/supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with glass fabrication equipment or similar industrial machinery.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
