Ambient Recruiting is partnered with a leading advanced manufacturing organization in Grand Rapids, MI seeking two Engineering / Manufacturing Process Technicians to join their process engineering team.
The Process Technician will support manufacturing operations by focusing on process optimization, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and production efficiency. This position works closely with both the Process Engineering and Operations teams to identify issues, implement improvements, and maintain safe, efficient manufacturing workflows.

- 1st Shift: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – 4:00 AM
Responsibilities:
- Investigate process improvement opportunities focused on increasing efficiency and reducing defects.
- Provide engineering support across manufacturing work centers as needed.
- Gather and analyze information related to equipment maintenance, equipment history, capacity, and process improvement.
- Develop and evaluate manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost/scrap analysis to improve utilization of staff and facilities.
- Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and participate in continuous improvement events.
- Coordinate with Quality and Operations teams to resolve production issues, improve product reliability, and minimize costs.
- Lead and support Kaizen initiatives by working with cross-functional teams to identify, implement, track, and report improvements.
- Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related documentation to understand manufacturing processes and requirements.
- Evaluate technical specifications and economic considerations related to process and product design.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous manufacturing experience.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints and utilize CAD.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.
