Ambient Recruiting is partnering with a respected Northern Michigan manufacturer that produces forged steel products used throughout the construction, roofing, HVAC, agriculture, and industrial industries. We're hiring Hot Trim Technicians to join a skilled forging team where you'll help transform heated steel into durable, high-quality finished products.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term manufacturing career. You'll receive hands-on training, cross-training opportunities, and regular wage increases as you develop new skills throughout the forge.
What You'll Be Doing
In this position, you'll:
- Trim excess material from forged metal parts using industrial trim presses
- Safely handle and move heated forged materials throughout production
- Inspect finished parts for quality, alignment, and consistency
- Operate conveyors and assist with maintaining production flow
- Label, organize, and stage production materials
- Support forging operations and material handling throughout the facility
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing standards
What We're Looking For
Successful candidates typically have:
- Manufacturing, production, warehouse, construction, farming, or other hands-on work experience preferred, but training is available for motivated individuals
- Comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Ability to lift, move, and remain active throughout the shift
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn multiple positions
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Commitment to workplace safety and teamwork

This is an active manufacturing position where you'll work around heat, heavy steel, and industrial equipment throughout the day. You'll spend your shift trimming forged parts, moving materials, inspecting finished products, and supporting the forging process. The work is physically demanding, but it's also a great opportunity to learn specialized manufacturing skills that can lead to higher-paying positions within the forge.
