Ambient Recruiting is partnering with a respected Northern Michigan steel fabrication company to hire a Loader / Unloader for a full-time first shift opportunity. This role is essential to keeping materials flowing through production by safely loading, unloading, organizing, and moving steel products throughout the facility.

What You'll Be Doing
In this position, you'll:
- Load and unload steel materials for inbound and outbound shipments using an overhead crane
- Read a tape measure accurately to verify material dimensions
- Organize materials and maintain an efficient shipping and receiving area
- Follow work orders, production schedules, and verbal instructions
- Complete inventory records and shipping documentation accurately
- Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for quality and accuracy
- Assist with material movement throughout the production facility
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all safety procedures while working with heavy materials and lifting equipment
What We're Looking For
Successful candidates typically have:
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure
- Basic math skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Comfortable standing, walking, bending, twisting, and reaching throughout the shift
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
- Manufacturing, warehouse, shipping & receiving, material handling, or construction experience is helpful but not required
- Willingness to learn overhead crane operation and other material handling equipment
